Here are some ideas for implementation:
- Video Middleware
- A Middleware which converts Mobotix Camera videos to the BMP Format required by snom phones (especially the snom 370). With this done, the next step could be to have a doorbell turn on the camera and have the caller at the door shown on the display. The user on the phone then could use the relais module of an ALL4000 to open the door.
- Voicemail Help Module
- Who does not hate these new voicemail systems where you don't know which key to press until you have listenend to a lengthy list of options? And who has not had to call again because by the time you have listened to all options you have forgotten which key to press for the option most closely representing the purpose of your call? Make it simple for the user and create a Push function which will show the Menu options on the phone's display while playing the audio prompts.

- Phonebook Applications
- A company phonebook, but which could also be updated with own records, or even multiple address books per user.
- Calculator
- Don't have a calculator within reach? Develop an XML calculator.
- RSS Newsfeed Middleware
- Create an application that allows any RSS newsfeed to be displayed on the snom phone. This application could have a normal web interface where you add the RSS feeds to be shown on the phone's display in a format of your choosing.
- Short Message System
- Why not have a system to send short messages to your friends and colleagues? Why not have groups to whom you can send information?
- Billing Information
- Why not replace the snom standard screen with a special screen developed by you into which you could integrate billing information?
- Home Automation
- Why not take control of your home with your phone? Open the garage door or switch on the light. As example you can have a look at the ALL4000 price, which already has an XML-Implementation.

Getting started
What you need to do to participate in the contest:
- Register at the Registration Page
- We will create an account for you and send you a confirmation mail with a link. Click on the link to confirm your email address. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CONFIRMATION MAIL IS NOT AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE and that the emails are sent out during business hours Central European Time (CET) only!
- Upon confirmation enter a new password for the WIKI and send it by clicking on "E-mail address".
- Log in with the new password.
- You can then create your page in this WIKI to present your idea. You can also edit the pages "Lifestyle Entries" and "Business Entries" and create a link to your entry in the respective category. Your page should contain the following:
- A description of your application
- A working DEMO link --> e.g. http://xmcontest/myapplication.xml
- A link to download your application
